frontはおなじみの単語で「正面」のほか「軍事の最前線」といった意味を最初に思い浮かべますが、ここのfrontsはその比喩で、"an area of activity or interest"（Webster）、すなわち「活動分野、方面」を意味します。確かにareaとかcircleというよりも「戦いの場」という意味がそれこそ前面に出る表現だと思います。復習を兼ねてチェックしておきます。（Shou-VR*）

Abe resolved to revive economy, amend Constitution

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe released his New Year message on Wednesday. He says his government will do everything it can to overcome deflation and revitalize the economy. Abe also repeated his hope to amend the Constitution.



The prime minister says the government is still halfway to beating nearly 20 years of deflation. Abe said the government will continue to do its utmost to bring back a strong economy. 

On the diplomatic and security fronts, Abe says Japan will play a more aggressive role in realizing peace and stability around the world. He says Japan should follow active pacifism in the 21st century.
