高田馬場のJR高田馬場駅構内の女子トイレで，女性が催涙スプレーのようなものが撒き，逃走しました。警視庁戸塚署や東京消防庁によると，トイレ内にいた女性７人が病院に搬送されましたが，いずれも軽症だそうです。
JAPAN TODAYの記事では「催涙ガス」をteargas とmaceで表しています。maceは「戦棍（頭部にかぎくぎのついた棍棒状の中世の武器）」（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）のことですが，そこからアメリカで販売されている「暴漢撃退用の催涙スプレー」（『スーパーアンカー英和辞典』第４版，学研教育出版）の商品名にもなっています。Maceと大文字で記されたり，Chemical Maceのように呼ばれることもあります。（Koyamamoto）

Woman sprays gas in station toilet; 7 injured
TOKYO — Police are searching for a woman who sprayed a can of what appeared to be teargas or mace in the women’s toilet at JR Takadanobaba Station in Tokyo on Tuesday night.
According to police, the incident took place at around 10:30 p.m. NTV quoted police as saying that seven women were taken to hospital, complaining of eye and throat pain after they were sprayed. Doctors said that none of the women was seriously injured in the incident.
