サンフランシスコで起きた韓国のアシアナ航空機が着陸に失敗し、炎上した事故では原因究明の調査が行われています。
亡くなったのは２名の方と報じられていますが、意識不明の重症者も数名に上るとのこと。そのうちの２名はroad rashによるものだそうです。
Another two victims suffered severe road rash after apparently being ejected from the plane, said Margaret Knudson, chief of surgery as San Francisco General Hospital, where they were being treated. Knudson said the patients, who were not identified, were in critical condition.

昔、ナナハンを乗り回していた時分に覚えたのがこの表現。バイクで転げたときに道路面と身体に強烈な摩擦が起き、上皮がすりむけることをいいますが、飛行機から投げ出されるなんて、バイク転倒の比ではないでしょう。
ただ「生還」をお祈りするのみです。
