PPT作成がまだなのです。締め切りや期限との綱渡りはこれからも続きます。ゼミ生も忙しいのでしょうね。upが少ないな。

Atypical Candidate Campaigns Against Convention

Kazuhiko Yamauchi is a mild-mannered homemaker who takes care of his son while his wife Sayuri makes a living working for a major U.S. fiber maker.

As unique as that is in Japan–where stay-at-home dads are virtually unheard of–that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what makes his life story distinctive: after serving as local assembly member, Mr. Yamauchi broke with the ranks of the powerful Liberal Democratic Party to run as independent and campaign against nuclear power.

The unconventional 48-year-old candidate is the subject of a new documentary, “Campaign 2.” The sequel to Kazuhiro Soda’s Peabody Award-winning 2007 documentary premieres in Tokyo on Saturday.

見出しはAtypicalで、A typicalではありません。ここのaは当然、次に続くことばを否定して、「非〜」や「無〜」という意味を表すsuffixです。英英によると、"1. Not conforming to the normal type. 2. Unusual or irregular."とあるので、「型破りの」という訳もいいかも。（UG）
