よってget the bugは「〜に熱中する、夢中になる」となります。（英辞郎 on the WEB)
LDOCEも見てみるとbugの第五定義に"a sudden strong interest in doing something"と載っており、例文に"I had one flying lesson and immediatelycaught the bug (=became very interested in flying)."とありました。
catch the bugでも同じような意味になるようですね。
