今回はtempestに注目したいと思います。tempestといえば、「大あらし」(『ウィズダム英和辞典 第二版』三省堂)という意味でお馴染みの単語ですが、ここではどのような意味で用いられているのでしょうか。Merriam-Webster Dictionaryで調べてみると、二番目の語義に"tumult, uproar"と定義されていました。そこで、tumultを英和で調べてみると、「(心の)混乱，動揺，興奮」(『ウィズダム英和辞典 第二版』三省堂)と定義されています。今回の記事中でも、「(心の)混乱，乱れ，異変」というような意味で用いられているのではないでしょうか。
自殺といえば、日本の自殺率の高さも目を背けてはいけない問題の一つですね。回復に向かっていると思われる日本の経済、就職率などによって、自殺率も下がってくれればいいですね。(Astroriver)
