今回は記事のタイトルに使われている、get World Heritage nodに注目してみたいと思います。過去にgive the nod「承認する」cf.http://d.hatena.ne.jp/A30/20120509/1336571042 という表現を先輩が取り上げておられますが、今回はそのgive the nodとは逆で、get the nod「(くだけて)〈人から〉同意を得る;選ばれる,認められる」(『ウィズダム英和辞典第二版』三省堂)という意味になります。見たまんま、nod「頷き[同意]」をget「得る」、give「与える」という形で覚えやすい表現かもしれません。記事中では、「世界文化遺産として認められる、認定される」という意味で用いられています。(Astroriver)
