大変遅くなって申し訳ありません。私ごとながら、卒業旅行で2月18日から23日までハワイに行って参りまして昨晩帰国致しました。
赤字の部分は直訳すると「過去のレンガからの(長い道のり)」というところでしょうが、どういう意味でしょうか?
bricks「れんが」は比喩表現になっています。この一文では携帯電話(いわゆる「ガラケー」から「スマフォ」まで)の変容を表しているのでしょう。よって、the bricks of the pastは「過去の遺物」というとネガティブな感じがしますので、これまでの「積み重ね」のような意味で使われているのではないでしょうか。(Minnesota)
