東電女性社員殺害事件で、無期懲役となったネパール国籍のゴビンダ・プラサド・マイナリ氏の再審で、東京高裁は７日、１審の無罪判決を支持して検察側の控訴を棄却し、再審無罪とする判決（acquittal）を言い渡しました。しかしながら検察側からマイナリ氏への公式の謝罪はまだないそうです。どこやらの大臣と同じで負けを認めるのがいやな人が多いのでしょうね。
さて見出しのventですが、これはおなじみの単語ですよね。元々はラテン語の「風」から来た言葉で（cf. ventilation）、動詞では「（感情などを）発散する、あらわにする」という意味です。そういえばどこかの国のクルマにもこんなネーミングが与えられていましたっけ。（UG）
Former convict vents frustration
Mainali issued a statement through his supporters expressing both joy and frustration over the ruling.
In the statement written in Japanese, Mainali asks the police, prosecution and courts to think carefully about why he had to suffer for 15 years, and to correct any problems and mistakes they made. He says he hopes to be the last innocent person mistakenly arrested and sent to prison.
