Wall Street anxious about presidential election
Businesspeople working on New York's Wall Street are expressing keen interest in the US presidential election.
A majority of people in the financial industry interviewed by NHK say they cannot agree with incumbent President Barack Obama's tighter regulation of financial institutions.
But people on Wall Street are also cautious over possible drastic changes to US monetary policy. Republican candidate Mitt Romney has criticized the current easy money policy under Fed chief Ben Bernanke.
Concerns are also mounting over the so-called "fiscal cliff" package of tax hikes and spending cuts that could hit US growth if implemented next year as currently required.
