It remains to be seen~

It remains to be seen~という構文が使われていました。 It remains to seenのあとにはここにあるhowの他,ifやwhetherではじまる疑問詞の節が来ますね。
(UG)

Imprisoned Fujimori seeks pardon

The family of former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori, imprisoned for human rights crimes, has asked for a humanitarian pardon for medical reasons.

Fujimori has been serving a 25-year prison term outside Lima. He was convicted in 2010 for ordering security forces to kill citizens in 1991 and 1992.

Fujimori's family applied for a pardon with Peru's Justice Ministry on Wednesday.

They say the 74-year-old former leader's health has deteriorated since he underwent his fifth tongue surgery in late August.

Daughter Keiko said her father needs close examination by an oral cancer expert.

Fujimori has claimed innocence throughout his trials.

He has been reluctant to seek a pardon as that would imply his admission of crime. His family recently persuaded him to change his mind.

Many

Peruvians critical of Fujimori's authoritative rule are opposed to an amnesty.

It remains to be seen how President Ollanta Humala handles the family's request.
