debrief
Sugiuchiくんのbriefに関する記事（http://d.hatena.ne.jp/A30/20120419/1334790075）を読んでいて、ふと思い出したのが、debriefという表現です。
もう１０年以上も前の話ですが、前任校の短期語学研修の関係でニュージーランド ワイカト大によく行ってましたが、そこで、このdebrief、さらにdebriefing timeという言い回しに出会いました。
「諜報活動の一環として、任務を遂行した隊員から後の諜報活動に役立てる目的で聞き取り調査を行う」という軍隊用語としてなんとなく知っていましたが、まさか語学研修で目にするとは思ってもいませんでした。
同大では、debriefを付き添いの教員が各授業を適当に巡回して、授業後にワイカト大学のスタッフと改善点や要望を伝えるための「意見交換」の時間として用いていました。
この表現はNZ独特のものなのか、はたまたワイカト大-specific？、 それとも広く英国（英連邦）で使われるものなのかを調べようと思いながら、今日まで放っておいたものです。

A debriefing on the Te Kuiti tour of duty

If this were a military campaign, and it is beginning to feel like one, then I would say that here is where I conclude this phase of my Te Kuiti "tour of duty".
I am not interested in the politics. I am only interested in the end result. No-one wants this place to end up as a holding pen for deadbeats and drifters. This vision is for a vibrant and rejuvenated town. I have put forward several suggestions toward that end in previous articles, or "entertainments" as I prefer to call them, and often in strong metaphorical language.
