cakes and ale

先日，田邉研究室に東京大学名誉教授 行方昭夫先生からあるものが届きました。それが下の写真のものです。
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
田邉先生はこの本を一読されて，とても素晴らしい日本語が散りばめられていて大変勉強になると仰っていました。原作と照らし合わせれば，さらに深い勉強になるでしょう。ちなみに原作名Cakes and Aleです。以下はAmazonから引っ張ってきた本紹介です。

そしてcakes and aleは「人生の快楽，世俗的な楽しみ」や「どんちゃん騒ぎ」という意味があります。これはShakespeareの「十二夜」で使われていた表現です（『ジーニアス英和辞典』第4版，大修館書店）。
