まず，見出し'Satoyama' idea gets regional plugについて説明します。plugには「（テレビ・ラジオ番組に挟む本や映画の）広告，宣伝」や「推奨の言葉」という意味があります（『オーレックス英和辞典』旺文社）。そして，記事内にPrefectural officials, including governors committed to expanding "satoyama" traditional land conservation efforts throughout Japan and worldwide, met Wednesday in Nagoya to discuss protecting and promoting the concept at the provincial level.とあるので，今回の文脈では「地域のサポート」のように解釈出来ます。
続いてBut as governors meet in Nagoya, namesake nearby site bulldozedです。辞書によるとnamesakeは「同じ名の人」とあります（『オーレックス英和辞典』同上）。記事のHiroaki Somiya, a Nagoya University honorary professor and leader of a movement to save Hirabari Satoyama, is scheduled to deliver a statement Thursday calling on the court to rescind the development permit issued by the city.や，平針の里山に開発のメスが入っている事実から，ここでのnamesakeは平針の里山を指していることが分かります。
「里山」という考えが促進されようとしている時に，皮肉にもCOP10が開かれている名古屋の平針の「里山」がなくなろうとしているのです。それを表しているのが，今回のご指名質問でした。（ゼミ生persimmon柿生）
