まずtrend（流行）にbuck（強く抵抗）することから，buck the trendsで「流行に逆らう」という意味になります。ここでは小見出しにwe've quietly gone our own wayとあるように「我が道を行く」「独自路線を貫く」などと訳すといいかもしれません。具体的な“Subaruの我が道”については以下の部分を参照してください。ちなみに文中のcookie-cutterは以前ブログで扱いました。

さらに，Subaruが抗うtrendがもう１つあります。それは「不況」というtrendです。記事の出だしにAmid the economic troubles and the bailouts and the consumer retrenching, a very small number of car companies actually thrived and prospered -and I'm delighted to report that Subaru was one of that elite group.とあることからもわかるように，見出しのstillとsuccessfullyからは「不況で消費も低迷しているが，それでも依然として」「Subaruは例外」というニュアンスが感じられます。（院生 小山本）
