ご質問 #6 「一兵卒として」に挑戦！

英検が終わり（出来に関しては触れないでください…）一段落着いたので，遅くなりましたが「一兵卒」について書かせていただきます。

そもそも一兵卒とは「ある活動をする大勢の中の一人として，下積みの任務に励む者」とあります（『大辞泉』小学館）。そして，「複数の記事から探す」というのが条件でしたので4つの記事から取り上げました。

このように「一兵卒」にも複数の訳し方があります。どの社にも共通して言えることは，rank and fileやsoldierといった「兵士」を意味する単語が使われていることです。ちなみにrank-and-fileとすると「一般の，庶民の」を意味するハイフン形容詞として使えます（『リーダーズ英和辞典』第２版，研究社）。小沢氏はrise from the ranksするのでしょうか。今後の展開に注目です。(ゼミ生　Lbow-Shoulder)
