「~化」の英語

「〜化」というとすぐに-lizationという形（例：Internationlization）をもってきてしまいそうですが，「フツー」の英語では~ing形を使います。この方がリズムもさることながら，「〜化」，すなわちそちらの方向へ進んでいるイメージをうまく表現できます（例：going international, going green, etc）。
あの男性誌，つまりは小山本，camel，gach，柿生杉内の愛読雑誌でもあるPlayboyもついに...，以下はそれを伝えるサイト（「東京新聞」にも記事がありました）。「東京新聞」の記事ではgoing 3Dが「飛び出すプレイボーイ」となっていることに翻訳者志望の学生は注目（記事は訳ではないけどね）！（UG）

Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner tells ABC News that he actually thought about doing 3D in the 1950s when the magazine started but he ditched the idea when he found out how expensive it would be to include the glasses. Because no “True Blood” back then, of course.
