Flaunt it!

As might have been expected

NEW YORK (AP/WSYR) - Apple's much-anticipated iPad went on sale Saturday morning. Some early-adopters waited outside the Apple Store in Carousel Center overnight, just to get their hands on the new gadget.

Roger Wortham, a student, tried to get in line Friday night, but Carousel Center security asked him to wait outside the mall until doors opened early in the morning. He waited in his car. "I'm a fan-boy, definitely," he said. Then, looking at the line that had grown behind him he added, "I'm not the only one obviously."

Gadget-seekers determined to be among the first to get their hands on an iPad began queuing outside Apple's flagship shop in Manhattan a day ahead of the tablet computer's Saturday debut.

Well, it looks like at least someone wants the iPad. A crowd of several hundred lined up outside Apple's flagship "cube" store on Fifth Avenue for a chance to snag the new tablet Saturday, with scores of other line-sitters waiting their turn at Apple Stores from Pasadena, California, to Knoxville, Tennessee. No, the lines weren't as long as those we'd seen (and experienced) for the iPhone in previous years, but apparently they were no less enthusiastic, and so far, at least, no train wrecks.
